According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, consuming 4 tbsp of olive oil on a daily basis does reduce the risk of heart disease indeed. It is also recommended to use olive oil to replace saturated fat in the dietary menu. In terms of cardiovascular health, olive oil basically plays an effective role against oxidative stress, which is commonly linked to some types of diseases including cardiovascular conditions.

5. Prevents Breast Cancer

Olive oil prevents cell damage since it contains a generous amount of vitamin E. Preventing cell damage is of course a great way to reduce the risk of breast cancer formation. It turns out that the oil also reduces breast density. There is indeed a strong correlation between breast density and breast cancer. One percent decrease in density actually translates into 2 percent of reduced risk of breast cancer development in human body.

6. Good for Digestion

Olive oil is almost a superb natural substance to help to improve your overall digestive conditions. Apart from its benefits in preventing colon cancer, olive oil also prevents stomach ulcer problems. Ulcer mainly occurs since the abdomen contains high amount of hydrochloric acid. Olive oil keeps the hydrochloric acid low in amount, preventing the development of ulcers. If you suffer from chronic constipation and other indigestion problems, you can also consume olive oil to improve your conditions.
